About our Software

Our Innovation: AI-Driven Tech for Creativity

The software technology behind Robohood was created by a diverse team of experts in Arts, Computer Science, Robotics, Data, and Artificial Intelligence. Our platform integrates a wealth of information about fine arts of the past and present, providing artists with a comprehensive Robopainting™ experience.

How Our Technology Works

A digital image is divided into strokes using complex algorithms and neural networks, which are then transmitted in the form of coordinates to the Robotic Artist.

Step 1 - Upload the Original Image

Art is only limited by your imagination. You can create an image of your own, or upload an existing image using our interface. You can even ask our system for assistance if you feel a creative block coming on. Once you have your ideal image, you can hone the settings and adjust the color palette and style of the commissioned painting until it matches your vision exactly

Step 2 - A Digital Rendering is Made

You can preview your painting by generating a render in our interface. Robohood's algorithm will transform your image into strokes, and perform a series of steps, including paint selection and mixing, as well as programming the robot's movement path, to create a high-quality, bespoke, one-of-a-kind painting

Step 3 - Start Painting

Once your vision of your ideal artwork is realized, simply click a button to begin painting. Our robotic artist is designed to automatically mix paints on the canvas, using a basic 6-color palette, and switching brushes for optimal results.

Step 4 - The finished product

Once the painting process is complete, the final step is to behold your creation! With Robohood, Robopainting™ is an exhilarating experience throughout, from the preparation, to the execution, to the unlimited enjoyment after completion. Show it off, display it proudly, or keep it for yourself as a “for your eyes only” proud keepsake. There is no wrong way to enjoy what you’ve created!

A Genuine Artistic Process

Genuine, bespoke and unique fine art cannot be created at printer speeds. Same holds true with Robohood. The time it takes for Robohood to complete a painting depends on the quantity of strokes rendered. If fewer strokes are used, the painting will be completed faster, while a greater number of strokes will require more time to complete. No matter the commission, and the time it takes, the end result is always worth the wait!

Render Duration

The rendering time depends on the reference image and the chosen style. Sketch-style images may take as little as 30 seconds, while a full-color painting could take up to 10 minutes.

Painting Duration

The time required to paint a picture depends on the reference image and the complexity of the render simulation. A sketch may take 30 minutes, while a full-color painting could take up to 11 hours.

Tools & Mediums

Types of Paint

We typically use oils and acrylics for our paintings, but our robot can paint with a variety of other materials as well.

Surfaces for Drawing

Any horizontal surface is suitable.

Compatible Brush Sizes

We typically use brushes that are 3, 5, or 9 mm wide, but it is possible to paint with brushes of any width.

Canvas Sizes

We typically paint on canvases ranging in size from 200x200 mm up to 400x400 mm. However, our Robotic Art Studio is capable of creating composite paintings as well.
